What is Invisalign?

InvisalignTM is a teeth alignment modality that is significantly less noticeable and more comfortable than traditional braces. InvisalignTM uses aligners that contribute almost no inference with your daily life activities.

Benefits of Invisalign

InvisalignTM treatment is a perfectly viable treatment option for anyone at any age who wants to improve their smile and perfect their teeth alignment. Misaligned teeth can give birth to a list of issues that will only worsen over time. For example:

  1. A misaligned jaw can make chewing food more difficult and result in attrition (teeth wear).
  2. Teeth that are crooked and too close to each other are more difficult to clean, which increases the risk of cavities and gum disease.
  3. The temporomandibular joint in the jaw is highly prone to complications as it is highly mobile and misaligned teeth worsen the risks which include headaches and jaw clicking. Crooked teeth can also contribute to muscle pain in the jaw.

What’s Next?

Dr. Nohora Martinez will begin your InvisalignTM treatment with a complimentary consultation. Dr. Martinez is a foreign-trained orthodontist who qualified her degree as a general dentist in the province of Ontario. This allows her to perform orthodontic treatments, while billing at general dentist fees which are significantly below the orthodontic specialist fees. Dr. Nohora Martinez is an InvisalignTM Platinum Level preferred provider, indicating her high level of education, experience, and expertise in orthodontics. The Platinum Level status is only given to Dentists who have demonstrated mastery in orthodontics and who have completed a certain number of cases in a year

Once we have determined that InvisalignTM can correct the alignment of your teeth, Dr. Nohora Martinez will establish a unique and detailed treatment plan illustrating how your teeth alignment and the InvisalignTM system will change as your treatment progresses.

During your InvisalignTM treatment, you will wear a sequential series of plastic, BPA-free teeth aligners for an interval of approximately two weeks before moving onto the next set of aligners. The aligners are invisible, easy to clean, removable, and may provide positive results long before your treatment plan has finished.

INVISALIGN FOR ADULTS

There’s never been a better time to get the stole you’ve always wanted.
And there’s never been a better way to do it.

For far too long, many adults shied away from metal braces, the only treatment available to straighten their teeth.
Metal braces were found to be uncomfortable, intrusive and aesthetically distasteful.
Hence, many people didn’t have the courage to opt for this treatment during their busy adult years and professional careers.

Fortunately, Invisalign has revolutionized the way with its invisible aligners, a ground-breaking orthodontic technology.
Whether you are looking to straighten a single tooth or to correct your bite, Invisalign is the perfect solution
for a wide range of orthodontic treatments for adults and teenagers alike.

Beautifully aligned teeth not only help create an attractive smile and boosts self-confidence,
but they also offer significant health benefits.

Our team at Riverpark Dental works with the world’s best clear aligner system – Invisalign. Invisalign is a truly revolutionizing way to align teeth up to 50% faster than conventional braces. Invisalign aligners are also totally clear and removable. They are therefore much more aesthetically pleasing and allow you to properly brush and clean your teeth throughout the treatment process. With over 4 million cases completed worldwide, the Invisalign clear aligner technology is a proven solution!

YOUR CUSTOM TREATMENT PLAN

Once you’ve decided to move forward with Invisalign, we will schedule a complete exam to initiate the process. This is where the works begin.
Dr. Nohora Martinez will take a full set of X-Rays and impressions of your teeth.
A comprehensive treatment plan will be mapped out and your custom aligners will be ordered. You’ll receive detailed instructions on how to put on and take off your aligners for optimal results. The dentist and the treatment coordinator will discuss with you the follow up schedule throughout your treatment plan. Best of all, the cost of this comprehensive new patient exam will be applied towards the cost of your Invisalign treatment

YOUR PROGRESS WITH INVISALIGN CLEARS ALIGNERS

Your custom-made aligners will be made of our proprietary Invisalign SmartTrack material. They’re virtually invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. That’s one of the most wonderful features of these clear aligners. Wear your Invisalign clear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day for the best results, taking them out only to eat and to brush and floss.

You’ll come back to our studio periodically so we can track the gradual shift that will take place with your teeth. You will also receive new aligners at each of these appointments until the treatment is complete. Each new set of Invisalign aligners will be slightly modified to allow the shift in your teeth to continue until the treatment is complete. At every stage you’ll be able to see your progress and just imagine how far your new smile will take you.

TREATABLE CASES

Is Invisalign® treatment appropriate for you? For the majority of cases, the answer is yes. Invisalign treatment is clinically proven
to be effective for a broad range of teeth straightening cases, from mild to complex.

These are some common concerns doctors treat with Invisalign clear aligners:

Invisalign

Gapped Teeth

Gaps between teeth can occur with abnormal continued growth of the jawbone. Missing teeth can also cause the surrounding teeth to shift due to the extra space creating gaps in your teeth. Spacing issues and gaps between teeth can lead to gum problems (due to lack of protection by the teeth), periodontal pockets and increased risk of periodontal disease.

Invisalign

Open Bite

Open bite often occurs when some teeth are unable to make physical contact with the opposing teeth for a proper bite. Most often caused by a genetic abnormal jaw structure or excessive thumb-sucking, an open bite can cause poor or painful chewing, and even speech impairment. It can also lead to greater issues like temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ).

Invisalign

Overbite

Overbite occurs when the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth. It’s typically caused by genetics, bad oral habits, or overdevelopment of the bone that supports the teeth. This can lead to gum problems or irritation, and/or wear on the lower teeth, and can cause painful jaw and joint problems.

Invisalign

Crossbite

Crossbite can occur when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. It causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and can happen on both the front and the sides of the mouth. This can cause wear of the teeth, gum disease and bone loss.

Invisalign

Overly Crowded

Teeth crowding occurs when there is simply a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally. When left untreated, overly crowded teeth can get worse over time, and result in severely crooked teeth. This crowding can lead to plaque accumulation, tooth decay and an increased chance of gum disease.

Invisalign

Underbite

Underbite can occur when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth. It’s usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both. It can also be caused by missing upper teeth. This can prevent the normal function of front teeth or molars, which can lead to tooth wear. It can also cause painful jaw and joint problems.
