Inlays/Onlays Riverpark Dental

Inlays and onlays are a type of restoration that is done on your back teeth. Inlays and onlays are usually required on teeth that have some decay or are cracked but not damaged to the point they require crowns. Inlays and onlays are ideal solutions to repair damaged teeth provided that there is enough healthy tooth still available. Inlays restore surface area and inside of the tooth and onlays rebuild the biting surface of the tooth also referred to as the cusp.

Is it for me?

Inlays and onlays are a reliable solution to repair damaged teeth because they are extremely durable and can even last for up to 30 years. They also allow for as much of the tooth to be saved as possible, reinforces and strengthens your teeth and can provide protection to guard against future dental treatment in these areas.

The Process

A dentist will remove the part of your tooth that is damaged first. Then, scans of your teeth are taken using digital iTero technology to ensure precise and accurate impressions. These impressions are sent to a lab where custom inlays and onlays are created to especially fit your teeth. The custom inlays and onlays are placed on your teeth by the dentist and the fit is checked to ensure they are comfortable and durable.
